Chris Baker <ignatz@gmail.com> is a programmer specializing in the Web.

In the past he has worked as a choir director, messenger, digital music engraver, orchestral musician, retail manager, and construction worker while pursuing his dream of a multimedia hymn database. In Christmas of 1997 he created An Online Christmas Songbook as the first web application built upon that work.

As a freelance French Horn player he has played with such groups as the San Francisco & Baltimore Symphonies and performed in numerous recitals and concerto performances in works by such composers as Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Quantz, Hindemith, Britten, Peter Maxwell Davies, Charles Wourinen and Thea Musgrave.

He is currently working the next phase of his hymn database project.

He lives in Southern Ohio with his wife and son.
